February 2009: TED, EFM, GSMA, DICE…
February had something for everyone: TED for thought, EFM for filmmakers, GSMA for mobile, DICE for gamers. Great things were said but little posted yet. I can kind of understand why there is nothing on writers chitchat at Media Bistro’s SF Mixer re: twitter.com/themediaisdying the very night the town’s only newspaper rumored shutdown. Nice to have some privacy while you mix. But why, in this age of easily upload, are the sites for EFM, GSMA, DICE, Digital Music Forum, WonderCon not updated with post-conference viewing. Every digital media conference should have a video tab or, at minimum, audio with a Flickr link, along with next year’s dates. And it should be up the day after the event, or the opportunity to build audience is missed.
